Since our founding more than 140 years ago, we have grown from a facility with six beds to a 132-bed acute care community hospital.

Our nonprofit hospital offers acute medical, emergency, surgical, maternity and behavioral health services.

What is a hospitalist?

Hospitalists are physicians who specialize in managing the care of patients in the hospital. The hospitalists at Oswego Hospital coordinate consultations, order tests and procedures, and personally provide you with a consistently high level of care throughout your hospital stay.

A member of the Oswego hospitalist team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Complementing the care are nurse practitioners and physician assistants. The hospitalists at Oswego Hospital are physicians that are board-certified internists.

Hospitalists keep a close eye on you

The hospitalists know every specialist and department within the hospital, and they will guide you through a smooth and speedy recovery process.

Caring for you and your family

Hospitalists are here to provide answers in person to their patients. They will also make themselves available to family members to discuss treatment options.

When you're ready to be discharged, the hospitalist team will send your primary care physician a discharge summary of your hospitalization to include treatment recommendations, medications and follow-up. This relationship is invaluable to your continuity of care, thus making Oswego Hospital the local hospital of choice. You should visit your primary care doctor as instructed upon discharge from the hospital.

Oswego Hospital accreditation

Your community hospital is fully accredited by The Joint Commission and the American College of Radiology.
